Product Description:
J-Clamp (Bird Mouth Clip) Fastening System for FRP Grating
Product Overview:
The J-Clamp is a specialized bottom fastening solution designed to work in combination with various top clips (M-Clip, L-Clip, W-Clip, and Square Recessed Clip) to create a complete FRP grating retention system.
Key Features:
- Universal bottom clamp design (commonly called Bird Mouth Clip)
- Compatible with multiple top clip configurations
- Creates secure top-and-bottom fastening solution
- Ideal for applications requiring extra stability
Complete Assembly Includes:
- Top Clip (selected based on application)
- J-Clamp (Bird Mouth Clip) bottom component
- Appropriate bolt, nut, and washer set
Installation Procedure:
1. Top Clip Placement:
Insert the selected top clip through the grating mesh
Position securely on load bars
Ensure base sits flush against grating underside
2. J-Clamp Positioning:
Align beneath the grating structure
Engage with the structural member flange
Verify proper alignment with top clip
3. Final Fastening:
Insert fastener through the complete assembly
Tighten securely to create a locked connection

Frequently Asked Questions
How strong is FRP grating?
Fibergrate FRP has a high strength-to-weight ratio when compared to traditional materials like metal, concrete and wood. FRP gratings can even be strong enough to carry vehicular loads while weighing less than steel gratings.
Is FRP stronger than steel?
Glass FRP's strength-to-weight ratio is superior when compared to steel and aluminum but doesn't rank as high for stiffness-to-weight ratios. To meet stiffness requirements, CCG uses thicker glass fiber while retaining lighter part weight.
Which are the factors that influence properties of FRP?
Mechanical properties of FRP composites depend on the proportion of fibers and matrix materials, manufacturing methods, mechanical characteristics for constituent materials, and orientation of fibers through matrix.
Mainly raw material include
- Resin (corrosion resistance, hardness) Type: Ortho/ Iso / Iso food grade/ Vinylester/ Phenolic
- Glass fiber yarn (reinforced material, strength) Type: A-glass C- glass and E-glass
- Curing agent
- Accelerant
- Filler Type: Aluminum hydroxide/ Calcium carbonate/ No filler(pure resin)
